Finance Section

The Finance section handles payroll, accounts payable / receivable, fire billing, grant accounting, asset records, insurance issues, budgeting, invoicing for ambulance services, and other tasks. Ambulance revenues are second only to property taxes as a major source of income for the District.

The District is audited by an outside firm annually to confirm that SFD is following acceptable accounting practices and managing the taxpayers’ monies appropriately. In addition to the Finance Manager, this section includes a Finance Assistant, Finance Specialist, an Ambulance Billing Specialist, and a Finance / Account Clerk.

The Administrative Section

The Administrative section provides clerical support to all areas of SFD. Positions within this area include an Administrative Lead and two part-time clerical support staff, which report to the Finance Manager. They provide reception and customer support at the front desk of the district’s administrative offices, and support to the Finance Section by working with shipping and receiving. The Administrative Lead works closely with the division and section managers providing clerical support. This area is responsible for many of the written materials that are developed for use either internally or externally, such as project proposals, minutes of meeting, policies and procedures, legal notices, public information, etc.
